Ok you are probably starting to see us Scrapstorian gals are absolutely digging the Let’s Get Sketchy, June Sketch Challenge! So far we have shown you layouts based on the sketch by Shar (Let’s Get Sketchy – Take Two w Shar) and Rosa (Let’s Get Sketchy – Take One w Rosa).
Today it is my turn to show you what I did with this sketch, but before I do that here is a quick reminder of just how fabulous this sketch is …
For my take on the sketch, I flipped the direction of the diagonal line – it seemed to work better the other way for the pictures I had somehow (or at least it does in my mind and well it’s my layout so that’s a good enough excuse for me). I also used circle embellishments instead of the doilies. I am digging layouts with doilies from other scrappers but they are just not my jam .. wait I used to say that about fussy cutting florals too and now they are my go-to design element! Stay tuned for future doilies on my layouts?
Here is my take on the sketch:
I used some fabulous paper and embellishments from Cocoa Daisy, that I will admit I have been hoarding because I am so worried I will run out, and a couple fabulous wood veneers from Color Cast Designs, that came as part of one of my The Wild Hare Kits kits last fall. I love how clean and simple it came out but still has some pretty busy embellishment clusters too. Finished the whole thing off with some Tiny Attacher staples of course!
Thanks for swinging by … watch for Cheryl’s take on the sketch next!

[…] you love how one sketch can look so different, no matter how many times you try it?) Shar, Brande, Rosa and I ended up with totally different but equally awesome layouts. (Yes, I am saying mine is […]
Great job Brande! I love the wood elements you added and that you recreated the circles since doilies aren’t your jam 😉 Thanks for joining us at LGS!
