Confession of a scrapbooker …
I love circles on a layout. My sister and a fellow designer here on Scrapstorian (Shar) is laughing as she reads this I bet. Back up about 10 years maybe less I hated the things. Pictures are square so where the heck would circles even come in. Did not understand how anyone could even consider them on a layout – just totally outside of the ability of my brain to mix square with circle. Also why I do not eat Wendy’s burgers…square patty with a round bun? Just not ok!
Well introduce the Creative Memories Cutting System for circles (which they have brought back yahoo!) and some strong encouragement and perhaps some heckling from my sister and now I cant imagine a layout without them. For real. I have to hold myself back from adding circles to every layout. Enamel dots, journalling and circles are the meat and potatoes of my scrapping. Mmm potatoes.
So you can imagine my yip of glee then when Stuck?! Sketches unveiled their March 1-2018 challenge this month and it was a total circles focus. Boom! Here is a look at this circle infused sketch:
The circles and the stars together on this made me thinks of sports. I have some pics from my Women’s Soccer team (Go Diamonds!) that I wanted to document and this seemed like the perfect sketch. The only hitch was my pictures are in landscape orientation not portrait like in the sketch. Oh wait, no hitch at all – sketches are so amazingly versatile, a little spin to the left and voila landscape.
Here is my take on the sketch:
Thanks Stuck?! Sketches for another awesome sketch and a big thanks to my sister for both for creating and enabling my circle addiction.
Supplies that rounded out this layout: Simple Stories – Life in Color Collection (paper and brads), Simple Stories Black Polka Dot Washi, American Crafts Foam Thickers (hooray and stars), the ever present and amazing Bazzill Cardstock (Avalanche), and Tombow Mono Multi Liquid Glue
