The folks over at Scrapbook and Cards Today have added some serious sparkle and shine to my scrapbooking inspiration this dreary and soggy Vancouver January with their monthly sketch challenge on the Scrapbook and Cards Today Blog
This month’s sketch features a grid pattern and a dedicated space right in the sketch design for journalling. Hook , line and sinker for this scrapper. Here is a look at the Scrapbook and Cards Today January Sketch Challenge:
I followed this sketch to almost the tee. The grid concept, the circle for the title, the space for the journalling and even the little tickets with staples made their way into my layout. Every sketch challenge is inspiring but sometimes they are a total home run like this one and you just copy them element by element. Here is look at my layout:
This is a photo of my older sister (who plays goalie for a women’s hockey team in Alberta) slapping hands with the goalie on the other team after the game. Believe or not, that other goal is her son – my wee nephew who is growing up way too fast I tell you!
I was pretty excited to find a layout that I think really suited this picture and had space for this sister / Auntie to pour my heart out at how much I love this memory. The icing on the cake? The photo was taken by our sis-in-law who is a freelance photographer. Feeling the family love all around in this one people!
I added some enamel dots because it gives me chest pain to leave them off any layout, did some doodling down the sides of the layout with a white pen, added some string and staples because why wouldn’t ya, and finished up with some Freckled Fawn White Puffy Star Stickers because well my sister and my nephew are stars! Voila.
The Scrapbook and Cards Today team will be featuring a new sketch challenge on their blog every month. And in usual SCT style, every challenge will have an awesome prize! They sure like to give away awesome product from their scrapbook partners. I love me some prizes!
