Genuine Boy

Hello and Happy 2020!

Shar the Happy-Scrappy here showing off my first page of 2020!

I am going into 2020 with a few different projects on the go… one of them is my son’s 5-6year old album I started in 2018! Seriously – he is 12 already BUT it’s ALMOST done – I have just two layouts to do and this is the one of those so I am EXCITED!

To get my 2020 scrappy juices flowing, I used a sketch by Crafty Jen @craftyjenschow from the Facebook Group – Crafty Use it Or Lost it my sister @brandedavison suggested!

Here is the sketch:

As a pending new member of the Crafty Use It or Lose It Facebook Group, I pretty excited to take their sketch on a test run… I love that this Group keeps with my goal of scrapping MORE of my OWN STASH! Perfect!

I always look for sketches that are not too theme dominated and this sketch is definitely one of those!!

And here is my take:

I didn’t really have a “Highland Games” themed collection but after watching my extremely talented sister I learned that you don’t need exact matched picture to layout materials. These photos are of my son playing Tug-O-War and the whole reason I love these pics is they show that he will just try anything and play with anyone – no hesitation! So any bright, fun and playful collection would work to tell this story!

Echo Park’s 2014 That’s My Boy Collection designed by Lori Whitlock (one of my go to scrapbooking companies) played out really well with this sketch and memory. Bright, fun and playful and you need very little product beyond what is included in their collections to finish off a layout. Their boy collections have always been a super fav of mine!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Shar
