Good Morning! Shar here posting from the Scrap Cave! Its May long weekend up here in Canada and I have had some time in my Scrap Cave and oh does it feel so good!!
What I have been baking up in the cave is a take on my sister’s Brande’s sketch she created over on The Wild Hare Kits blog in November! I know, I know…November is quite a long time ago BUT in my defense, I wanted to take the time to make it MOST epic and choose the right pic!
Here is Brande’s sketch:
And TA DAAAAAA here is my take:
The background was made when I had the opportunity to not only meet but also play in a class with VICKI ~freaking~ BOUTIN at the Scrapbook and Cards Today (SCT) Crop & Create in Calgary! The Scrapstorian team took a weekend out of ordinary life and created together at this awesome retreat! So so amazing…anyway back to my point…using Vicki’s Art Crayons, Foundation Paper, Stencils, Gesso, and Brushes…we created some super cool backgrounds…it’s hard to tell in the pic but there is even texture in the background!
From the Vicki Boutin, Field Notes collection I chose the pattern paper titled well “field notes” ironically and paired it with her Mixed Media Embellishments, Escape the Ordinary Goil Foil chipboard stickers and topped it off with tribe title from American Craft’s Thickers – Katherine collection of gold phrases. Most of which we got either free or as part of our class at Crop & Create!
Enabler alert … *PRODUCT PROMO*
This is the first time I have used Vicki’s product and I have to tell you, its TOP NOTCH…her colours are WOW amazing, her embellishment packs are generously filled with all sorts of goodies – there was more awesome in that little package than I expected! Her brushes are second to none…and her foundation paper is one of the best I have used and to top it all off the price point is SO SO fair! If you haven’t already, in my wee little humble opinion, I would definitely give her product line a whirl – you will NOT be disappointed!
You can tell this line was truly developed by a fellow artist and scrapbooker, it shows from design to assembly to quality!
Well, that’s it for me today! Thank you for stopping by!
