Well Hello! Its Shar today posting on our blog! Feels like forever since I have added a post so I am so happy to be here!
While visiting Brande (B as we call her) in Vancouver, she showed me this awesome background making technique which I just love! The last few of her pages also used this technique and I just, JUST loved them so I was thrilled to give it a go! Check out a couple of her past posts, seriously worth the visit!
Using some water, some of the coolest colours of the Shimmerz Paints Creameez some old plastic packaging and a paint brush…with a smooshing technique onto white card stock I was able to create this amazing background that complimented the Midnight Collection from Cocoa Vanilla… this collection is STUNNINGLY BEAUTIFUL no pictures do it justice at all. Thank you to Cheryl for picking this up for me on a whim at a Scrap Shotz scrap sale in Calgary! SERIOUSLY JVN GORG HUNNY!
The colors of the Shimmerz paints are: Boogie Boardin Blue, Cheeky Pink, and Raisin Cane. LOVE!
The black blossoms sticking out from behind are a mimic free hand scissor cutting of the blossoms you see in the gorgeous die cuts, using the dark pattern paper that came in the collection. I love how they compliment and balance the dark Moments die cut title perfectly! No pre-drawing, this was not a tedious task. I just went for it! Imperfectly perfect! Or I got lucky!
Before I sign off, I just have to give a huge shout out of appreciate to B for keeping up the amazing posts on our blog while Cheryl and I balance kids and activities and stuff. She never stops amazing me… balancing work, husband, school, sports and a new puppy- B NEVER stops creating such AMAZING works of art with her layouts! Thank you B- lulu!
Thanks for stopping by!
Shar
