The double page layouts of the Scrapbook and Cards Today Magazine 365 2018 Online Course continue to bring me so much joy – the August 2018 class is no exception!
I am out of the many too photos I had to scrapbook from my 2013 trip to Scotland to walk the Great Glen Way with my sister which has to this point been the fodder of all my Scrapbook and Cards Today (SCT) 2018 double page layouts this year. So I have moved onto another collection of way too many photos that I have been piling up lately – photos of my husband’s rugby games with the Richmond Rugby Football Club (RRFC).
One of the many amazing traits of a double page layout (and you know I think there are many – love me a double page layout) is how quick they can make a real dent in a stock pile of photos – this month’s August 2018 class is no exception!
Let’s get to it – here is my take on the SCT 365 2018 August class:
Not sure about you, but I find it really difficult to find full collections, pattern paper and embellishments that capture adult sports. There are many super sporty themed papers out there that have a image of a soccer ball or a basketball court floor and these are fun for sure. However, they are just a little too real or maybe kitchy for my particular style. I want something mature but not boring, adult focused but not so mature its borderline heritage, fun because thatès what sports are but not childish or silly. hmmm
Well believe it or not (OK believe it because this collection is that amazing) the Crate Paper, Cool Kid collection was the perfect solution for these rugby game photos of my hubby and his team. The colours are bright but slightly muted which gives the collection that bit of fun I am looking for but doesn’t suggest childish. I cannot believe how versatile this collection is and all the very different events and memories I have used it for.
I paired the collection with black American Crafts, Thicker phrases and letters; backed all the photos in Bazzill Basics Cardstock – Raven ; and used black Close To My Heart, Waxy Flax to bring a little more dark and less childish bright to the layout. I think it worked!
