Double Down

The fun with my double page layout tribe continues with July Class for the Scrapbook and Cards Today Magazine 365 2018 Online Course!

I love double page layouts – you get so many photos in, way more room for embellishments, space for journaling and I secretly love when both sides of my album matches when I flip through. Also, I find I am adding a flip flap to many of my one-page layouts as I need to get a few more photos in or there is no space to tell the story. A double page layout solves all that.

A one page layout is like spreading your arms and spinning in happy circles trying not to break anything in a small room … but a double page layout is like spreading your arms and ecstatically spinning in a wide, open field full of wild flowers on a warm sunny day.

OK that’s enough double page layout tire pumping – let’s get the the actual scrapbooking stuff here already shall we! Here is a look what I created based on the July edition of the Scrapbook and Cards Today Magazine 365 2018 Online Course:

Here is a close up of each ‘half’ too ..

Wondering what collection this is because it is so beyond cute and has the best colour scheme ever ever? This is the Echo Park, Imagine That collection and it is so fun. I have so much left to play with including pirate sharks and squids, all kinds of skateboard and skooter stickers and embellishments, and space themed paper and rocket ship die cuts. No this is not an advertisement for Echo Park – just sharing some serious love!

I added some acrylic words from Elle’s Studio, acrylic stars from Color Cast Designs, some twine from my stash, and backed everything with Bazzill Basics Cardstock – Avalanche to contrast with the deep colours of the pattern paper. I also popped up the stickers from the Echo Park, Imagine That collection so they, well pop.

If you would like to peek at the pages I made based on the previous months of the Scrapbook and Cards Today Magazine 365 2018 Online Course, here you go:

Do you dabble in double page layouts? Are they your go-to or you kryptonite?
