As you probably saw peppered all over the @Scrapstorian Instagram account and our recent post Scrap Retreat – Sketch Inspired, earlier this month the Scrapstorian Design Team (Shar, Brande and Cheryl) and a couple of our closest friends (Rosa and Nikki) enjoyed an amazing weekend retreat scrapbooking in Canmore, Alberta.
Prior to the retreat I created a collection in my Instagram @brandedavison called ‘Lift These!’ My Lift These collection includes some of the most heart-stopping, jaw-dropping, awe-inspiring scrapbook pages I come across in my Insta travels. There are some very talented paper crafters out there y’all!
My goal was to use my Lift These! saved posts as a “scraplift” (when you use someone else’s scrapbook page to inspire your own – ultimate scrapbooker compliment) if I ran into a “scrap-block” (when you cannot make anything on paper – your creative juices are blocked, you are scrap blah).
While I was lucky enough to avoid the dreaded scrap-block over the retreat weekend, I did find myself reaching for some “scrapiration” (when you are inspired by or need the inspiration of other scrapbookers) during one of our very late night scrapping sessions. My Lift These! collection and the very talented Elodie Lusseau (@elodielle on Instagram) had my scrap-back! Her layout below brings me total joy:
But there is more. Not only is Elodie’s page amazing but it is actual a scraplift itself based on one of my favourite all time scrappers Amanda-jayne Baldwin (@happy_arty-days on Instagram). Icing on the cake! No wait, not just icing – this is a delicious layered cake of many talents with the bestest cream cheese (of course calorie free) icing on top!
With the Pinkfresh Studios, Be You collection in hand I was up for this rather intimidating scraplift challenge – rose-gold foil accents were up for the challenge! Here is my lift:
Shar, a fellow design team member here at Scrapstorian, one of our retreat peeps, and my sister; saw the Elodie page I was lifting and had to get in on the gorgeousness. Like me, she was drawn to the use of the outside of the page to anchor the photo and embellishments, leaving the middle open to showcase the background pattern paper.
Shar reached for the Amy Tangerine, Plus One collection, and Color Cast Designs acrylic hearts and stars and created her take on Elodie’s page. Here is her lift:
A huge shout out to Elodie, Amanda-jayne, and all the other amazing scrapbookers who share their creations on Instagram – thank you! The inspiration the rest of us scrappers get from scrolling through your creations is absolutely priceless!
