I am so excited to be participating in the Scrapbook and Cards Today (SCT) Magazine 365 2018 Online Class. This is a year long class, January to December 2018, that focuses on creating and double page layout every month. Each month a new class is released with a sketch to follow, takes on the sketch by their design team for inspiration and a wack load of additional prompts, tips and teaching to get you getting it done.
The January 2018 class provided a great sketch design for the way toooooo many photos I took with my sister when we visited Urquhart Castle in the Scottish Highlands in 2013. And when I say way too many photos, I am not joking! This one day is going to end up being 10 layouts in my trip album. And you know what? That is OK by me! This was our favourite day and favourite place and every picture I printed for my scrapbook brings me joy! So the day should get the bulk of my album’s real estate right?.
This is my first time participating in an online class with SCT and I am really enjoying the format. There is a sketch, some design ideas and loads of inspiration. Oh and the unexpected added bonus, every month there is scrapbook goodies to be won by different sponsors that SCT has partnered with. How great is that!
Without further ramblings, here is the double-page layout I created for the January class:
I was pretty chuffed to find out I could use the red cardboard cardstock paper I had stashed with my Fiskar Chevron and Stampin’ Up Arrow punches for some added dimension to my embellishments.
I largely used the Photo Play Paper Company – Boarding Pass Collection for this layout. I love the rich blues and reds in this collection balanced with the pops of green. I think the collection colours really worked for the bright outfits my sister and I were wearing against the stone backdrop of the castle.
The January class was a success, I cannot wait to get started on the February class!

Supplies used that played along with me for this layout: Photo Play Paper – Boarding Pass Collection; Bo Bunny Double Dot – Dark Denim; Felicity Jane – Heidi Story Tags; Tim Holtz Idea-ology Tiny Attacher Stapler; Tombow Mono Multi Liquid Glue; red cardboard cardstock, and string from my stash.
Hmmm the flags along the bottom of the page I just love. and the clustering with the circle photos. you effectively included a huge # of pics with out compromising a fun LO! Nice work!
