Canada vs USA Women’s Soccer

Paper Issues is in full swing with their January challenges – there is going to be some great scrapbooking in 2018 from the looks of the PI blog already!

The January Sketch Challenge was posted last weekend and is really fun. The design features one photo with lots of room for embellies! For those of you who love to include a doily on your pages, this is the sketch for you!

Here is a look at the sketch:

I had an idea to use the design feature of the star and circle on the lower right hand side of the main photo in the sketch for a couple of more photos – but small ones. Like the little pictures I printed of my Canada gals giving the USA Team a run for their money in November 2017! This allows me to feature a large photo of my team in the stands at the game (Go Surrey United Diamonds) and showcase a couple of the soccer match too.

Here is a look at my take on the sketch:

I used the Jillibean Soup, Bowl of Dreams collection for this layout and I really like how it worked out. Full disclosure … originally I thought this collection was way too pink and peach and pastel for my taste. I received the collection as a kit of the month a couple of years ago when I had the pleasure of subscribing to the Scrapshotz kit club. But funny enough and contrary to my original hesitation, I find myself reaching for the collection again and again. Maybe it’s those amazing puffy stickers? Oh or those little cameras? Or the arrows and feathers? All so great! All the embellies and title in this close up below are from this awesome collection.

I anchored the pics on the darker pink pattern paper in the collection, and placed it all on my go-to Bazzill Cardstock (Avalanche) cardstock to balance out all those great, bright colours of the collection I used as my embellishments.

Pop on over to Paper Issues for design team’s take of this sketch and all the other challenges and inspiration they have going on this month too.
