The team over at Let’s Get Sketchy have another awesome sketch challenge up!
Their resident sketch artist Brenshevia has again created a great sketch that if followed to a letter provides an amazing design while also giving you enough room to really make it fit your style and photos if you go off script too. Here is a look at the Let’s Get Sketchy – January 1-2018 Sketch:
I love that this sketch offers opportunity for more than one photo. I organize my printed photos by event and then by the number of photos for each moment within that event. So I went to my 2 photo pile and was pleased to see I had printed a couple fall photos that I love. A selfie of me and the hubby with a tree beautifully turned to autumn colours in the background and one of my boots in the leaves that eventually fell from that very tree.
I recently ordered the Felicity Jane Heidi Collection and Felicity Jane Willow Collection and was so excited that these fall photos and this sketch would be a great way to start playing with all the goodies. I ended up using a bit of both collections to get the yellow/orange and some balancing blue/green paper and embellishments that work perfectly for this sketch and these photos.
Side note … one of the amazing features of Felicity Jane collections is that they are so good together. If you have any leftovers from one collection, you can just blend it into the next one and the next one too. This is how I also snuck in some left over Felicity Jane Mila Collection in to this layout. Perfect!
Any who, here is a look at the layout I crated:
I loved all the space for embellishments and had a lot of fun playing around with different options before landing on the word bubbles, flowers and circle words. I think the word bubbles give it a playful feel which work great with the smiley photo. Getting my hubby to smile in a photo is not easy so anytime I get a smiley one I get it into my album stat.
