Getting Moody with some Flair

I have a total love affair with flair (sometimes called badges or buttons) on my scrapbooking pages. The pop in colour and dimension they give a layout is so fun and the variety of colours, images, sayings and more you can find out there in the scrapbooking community make them so easy to use on any page.

One of my favourite flair companies is called Accent Scrapbooking; a great little company out of Quebec, Canada with supplies available on Etsy. The shop owner Kareen Dion is super talented, sweet as can be, and a total joy to work with on orders. Take a peek at the Accent Scrapbooking blog, the Accent Scrapbooking Shop on Etsy, and their work on Instagram @accent_scrapbooking and you will quickly love all of the creativity of the Accent Scrapbooking Design Team and fall in love with their products!

In addition to creating and selling their flair and other products, the Accent Scrapbooking team also offers a monthly Mood Board challenge. You can pair the mood board with the matching flair they create specific to that board or just give it a go with your supplies on hand. The only rules are you must 1) be inspired by the mood board, and 2) use an Accent Scrapbooking badge. Done and done!

Here is a look at the Accent Scrapbooking January 2018 Mood Board Challenge:

Rule 1, inspiration from the mood board … I was instantly in love with the blues of this mood board. It is my favourite colour, my signature colour, and a colour I surround myself with from scrapbooking supplies to clothes to jewelry to kitchenware.

Rule 2, use of Accent Scrapbooking flair … living in Vancouver, BC, Canada I do not get a lot of opportunity to take picture with snow so I had to get past the winter element of the mood board. Well I didn’t just ignore the winter element; I decided to turn winter right on its head and focus on some hot, beach day photos from a recent trip to Portugal! This  gave me an opportunity to use “The Ocean Is Calling” flair I had ordered from Kareen a few months back. Yahoo!

I generally only participate in sketch challenges and don’t usually dabble in mood board challenges but I have to tell you after having so much fun playing with this one, I think I have been missing out! 2018 might just be my year of mood board challenges.

Pop over to Accent Scrapbooking for some additional inspiration from their Design Team. Oh and if you don’t read or speak French – pas de problème! Kareen includes an English version below the French version text in all of her blog and Instagram posts OR the Google Translate feature works on her blog too.

Have fun getting your mood on with this great challenge.
