All the Scraplift Sundays

Paper Issues is a scrapbooking company and community that we gals at Scrapstorian think is rocking the scrap world! They offer an awesome online store, a very active and positive Facebook community, a great Instagram feed, a whole host of scrapbooking challenges each month, and loads of inspiration from their really talented and varied Design Team.

One of the challenges they offer is called Scraplift Sunday. Every Sunday they pick a layout that caught their eye (either as submitted to one of their challenges, shared on their Facebook, or tagged on their Instagram, etc.) and a bunch of the Design Team members Scraplift it. They take the original layout and use it as inspiration to create their own take on that same design concept.

Usually I participate in a couple of these Scraplift Sundays a month, but this time around I decided to do all the things and participate in every one that’s been posted so far for December – all 4 of them!  This was so much fun and I really got me out of my go-to layout comfort zone! Check it out …

Scraplift Sunday, December 3-2017

The December 3rd Scraplift Sunday features a layout by Elodie Lusseau with her layout from last month’s Notable Quotable challenge. This layout is so fun and bright and just makes you want to smile right back at the page! Here is a look at the Scraplift layout:

For this layout I could not find that one photo that I thought would suit it best, so instead I went with 2 photos from a recent curling bonspiel we played here in Vancouver. I only had the chance to snap just these two photos but I think they tell the story well with this design. Here is my layout:

Scraplift Sunday, December 10-2017

The December 10th Scraplift Sunday challenges features a layout by Mary Ann Jenkins, one of the Paper Issues Design Team members. Mary is a prolific scrapbooker with a classy simplicity to her layouts that really showcases the picture and story. The Scraplift challenge she issued is a one photo, simple layout that leaves a wack load of room to really make it your own. I love the poetic license she gives you in her challenges! Here is her Scraplift layout:

I have this awesome picture of me and my hubby from a recent night out with our friends – look close and see both of our friends are doing rabbit ears behind us in the pic, I love that!  This seemed the perfect layout design to showcase this picture and some confetti of love embellishment mess. Here is my take on the Scraplift layout:

Scraplift Sunday, December 17-2017

The December 17th Scraplift Sunday challenge features a layout by Rachel O’Neal, another one of the Paper Issues Design Team members. The layout is one Rachel designed for the December Scrap Soup Challenge (I did mention they had a lot of challenges right!). The page is so fun with all its circles and so much room to embellish all over the place. Here is a look at the Scraplift layout:

I have a few photos from events or moments tucked away that would be perfect if cut into circles instead of left as square or rectangular photos. I pulled out the ones I had of my smallest nephew playing with my older sister and they were prefect in circle format and for this layout. I also had the chance to use of the very last vestiges (sigh) of my Fancy Pants, Be Different collection thanks to the scrap busting nature of this layout – thanks Rachel!  Here is a look at my layout:

Scraplift Sunday, December 24-2017

The December 24th Scraplift Sunday challenge features a layout from Tracey Fox. I follow Tracey on Instagram and really dig the work she posts there and at Paper Issues as a Design Team member. Her style is very playful and colourful and she has such a great range of layout designs in her tool box. Really inspiring! Here is her Scraplift Sunday layout:

The layout design with all those little photos was perfect for documenting a bunch of selfie outtakes from my recent trip to Spain and Portugal with my friend. In Porto, Portugal we were so tired from all the travel that after just a sip of our first taste of White Port Sangria we had full blown giggles – making selfie taking of our first Port experience hilarious! Here is my layout based on the Scraplift:

A big thanks to Paper Issues for the Scraplift Sunday challenges – I love seeing the layout you pick for the lift, and all of the Design Team members take on the sketch too. Not to mention the chance to see the takes all of us in the Paper Issues community post to the challenge board on Facebook. So fun!
