1 to 3 Kit Challenge with Wild Hare Kits

The 1 to 3 Challenge is a scrapbook kit review. A member of the Scrapstorian DT samples one scrapbook kit and applies it to three different sketch challenges in a month. We then document our experience for you – providing our thoughts on the kit company, the contents and how versatile it was for different challenges. We also talk about the sketch challenges themselves. Check out our past 1 to 3 Challenges.

For this 1 to 3 Challenge I am playing with my first ever curated just for me kit from Wild Hare Kits! Yup you read that right, this kit was made just for lil’ ole me based on a style profile I filled out about what I love and hate in products and layout, and the projects I am working on.

I ordered the Deluxe Kit for $38.95USD which includes 24 items and the shipping to Canada (which can often be a deterrent it is so expensive) was very reasonable for a total price of about $55CAD.

For more info on Wild Hare Kits, check out our post Scrapstorian Goes Wild and our unboxing video. The first 7 minutes of the video (yes, I know I can ramble on when I am excited about something) shows the amazing goodies that I received in my Wild Hare Kit, which I am showcasing below in three current sketch challenges, plus a couple bonus pages.

Wild with Paper Issues:
The first page I created using the Wild Hare Kit was for the November 5, 2017 Scrap Lift Sunday at Paper Issues. The scrap lift layout created by the very talented Kelly Feldman of the Paper Issues design team has lots of fun bright pictures and die cuts – so cute! Here is a look at the layout Kelly created: I thought this would be a perfect layout for some of the many photos of street art I took on recent trip to France, Spain and Portugal. Using really just the 6×6 patterned paper, enamel dots and alphas from my Wild Hare Kit the page worked out just as I hoped.

Even wilder with Paper Issues:
The inspiration over at Paper Issues this month is cray cray … oh wait, it is like that every month! The second page I want to show you using the Wild Hare Kits was for the November Sketchy Saturday Challenge on Paper Issues. This sketch has multiple photos and a grid pattern with lots of room to embellish to your heart’s content – my favourite things. Here is a look at the sketch:

The sketch was really easy to take liberties with to make it my own, including adding a bit of a crooked look to the grid, messing with the three squares on top and embellishing in a few extra places. My white pen died before I could journal once I get a new one I will add that in.
Creative Scrapbooker Magazine goes wild:
Creative Scrapbooker Magazine hit the mark again this month with the November 2017 Sketch Challenge. Full disclosure: anything with a little bit of circle action and some layering is my wheel house. Here is a look at the sketch: While I loved this sketch from the get go, I actually struggled with it right out of the gate … then I reminded myself to be Brande and out came the circle cutter from Creative Memories to make my own bigger spin on the circles in the sketch. A good reminder sketches are inspiration not a rule or play book.
The wild continues…
While this challenge is to create 3 layouts, I just could not stop myself from continuing to make a couple more with all the amazing Wild Hare Kit goodies I received. So here are a couple of bonus layouts.

Going wild with Stuck? Sketches:
The next sketch challenge I had ready on my scrap desk was the Stuck?! Sketches November 15, 2017 Sketch Challenge. Here is the sketch: I am still not sold on the white background but by going a bit heavy on the journaling helped me balance the white space. I heart journaling!
A wild, pink and fresh bonus:
The Pink Fresh Studio Dream On Collection pattern papers Wish and Reverie that came with the Wild Hare Kit absolutely had to find its way in a layout and fast. Love ’em! So I am adding another bonus layout to this challenge, one not based on a sketch.
Well, there you have it, 5 layouts based on 4 sketches and 1 amazing Wild Hare Kit – so sort of an odd digress on the 3 to 1 challenge but oh my scrapbooks are the better for it. And just as intended when ordering the kit I have made a dent in both my Africa 2015 trip and my Spain, Portugal, France 2017 trip. Thank you Wild Hare!
