In 2015, my husband and I are some family and friends travelled to Tanzania and climbed Mount Kilimanjaro (Kili). While you can get up the mountain without training, I can assure you it is 100% recommended and will make your hike up a pleasant occasion and not a slog.
On one of my few trips back to my hometown Edmonton, Alberta I had the chance to train with 2 of the peeps on our Kili crew, my sister Hailey and my friend Lana. This was so much fun! We hit these horrendous but really great stairs in the River Valley and with full gear (boots and weighted backpacks) spent the morning going up and down. This sounds awful, right? It was, but in a good way. The reward was Chinese food from my favourite place ever in Edmonton called Sam Wok. Mmm, ginger beef.
I digress; to capture our sweaty on stair selfie and a print out of my Fitbit results I used the Creative Scrappers August 2017 sketch challenge. The sketch is for 2 photos so was a great way to get both of my pics on a page and still get lots of embellishments in there to fancy it up our sweaty pic a bit.
Here is a peek at the Creative Scrappers August 2017 (Sketch #309) challenge:
I have just the very last vestiges of the Gossamer Blue, Gramercy Road Collection left in my scrap inventory and I have been dying to use it but also really not wanting to use it because then it will be all gone. Oh the hoarding but live in the moment dilemma of every scrapbooker! Well this clearly very happy pic was the perfect way to honour the last of this collection. Thank you Gossamer Blue!
A big thanks to Creative Scrappers for another great sketch!
