Community Book Exchange

My brother Stevie and I love just walking through neighbourhoods of Vancouver, British Columbia, where we live, to experience their vibe. We both love to find and capture pics of cool fire escapes (the old metal ones that have so much character and remind us of movies!), neat mailboxes, the coolest coloured front door, funky flower arrangements and garden gnomes, and more.

When we happened upon a community book exchange, complete with a bench to enjoy the book you selected, we were ecstatic. This had to be captured in my scrapbook for sure! The Paper Issues August 2017 Sketch Challenge was a great way to get my pics to paper. Here is the sketch:

Now here is the take on my sketch and using the quite old now but still totally wonderful, Close to My Heart Scholastic collection. The whole collection seems to centre on books, as soon as I saw it years ago I had to have it. It is perfect for these pics and whole idea of a community book exchange.

Thanks Paper Issues for your Sketchy Saturday this month, what a sketch!
