Hey friends! Are you loving Brande’s recent pages as much as I am? Her take on the Paper Issues sketch is just too awesome. I’ve been playing with some of the same sketches; I think we worked on the PI sketch on the same day. (Love FaceTime!)
I used up the last of my Pink Camera kit on this sketch. (Sadly, that store is no longer in business.) The Basic Grey B Side scraps inspired the colour scheme, and I added a lot of random chipboard and embellishments that have been hanging around my stash for way too long. I love how that Nailed it stamp turned out over the chipboard banners. (It’s from an older Scraptastic kit.)
I can’t believe I hand wrote the title, but hey, it worked!
Since I was in a sketchy mood, I painted a background for the February Creative Scrapbookers sketch that same day.
I mixed Liquitex ink into Wendy Vecchi embossing paste to create some thick, messy circles. (It took forever to dry! Oops.) I tried several background papers behind the circle and nothing seemed to work, until I ripped the edges and added black ink. A simple black cardstock fixed the problem. A few strips of older than old Basic Grey paper anchored the page, and gave me two good places for the fun bits – a few My Mind’s Eye badges, some twine, Amy Tangerine stickers and leftover painted circles.
Shar commented that this now looks like it was cut from a log, and I kind of like that! It was a fun layout.
Thanks for stopping by! Tell me what you’re working on today.
