There’s really nothing like a good scraplift, y’know? I love when a layout makes me want to scrap right NOW. 🙂
I’ll take you through the chain that led me to this one … I saw a page (and video) by Cat Martin in Shimelle Laine’s Facebook group that she scraplifted from Pol Prince for a challenge in the Paper Issues Friends & Fans group. Still with me? 🙂 I loved both layouts and took ideas from each for my page.
Supplies: Pinkfresh Studio Life Noted & Happy Things papers, Project Life paper, Simple Stories DIY Boutique paper, Pinkfresh Studio Happy Things transparencies, Heidi Swapp puffy stickers, Studio Calico rubber alphas, Crate Paper chipboard, Seven Paper washi stickers, unknown enamel dots, unknown heart transparency
The black and white Pinkfresh Studio camera paper really lent itself to the diagonal design. I followed the angles in the pattern with the brighter blue papers, and used another strip from Pinkfresh to cover any awkward gaps. That strip ended up being a great home for my title and the white space between the background design was perfect for journaling. (I backed the layout with yellow cardstock that got cut out of the photo. What is this, my first day?! 🙂 ) I wouldn’t normally add such a large date, but I just love those Heidi Swapp puffy stickers! The space between the photos and the heart transparency stumped me for a bit, so I called in the reinforcements. Shar suggested, “Cluster of goodies on and around the pink heart, girly embellies,” and who am I to argue? A little trio of (very old) chipboard fit right in.
I’m looking forward to following and trying more challenge from Paper Issues, but mostly I’m just glad to have finished a page today! That makes, well, one for February. Onward, scrappy friends!
