1 to 3 Challenge with The Pink Camera Kit

Hello kit lovers! It’s been ages since we did a 1 to 3 Challenge post. The low Canadian dollar makes it less than enticing to order gorgeous kits from our American scrappy pals, so I went on the hunt for some new and exciting home-grown kits. 🙂 (We have done a 1 to 3 with a Calgary-based kit club before, check that out here.)

In my search I found The Pink Camera, an online store and kit club based in Drayton Valley, AB. I was familiar with the founders from YouTubeInstagram and their podcast, so supporting them seemed like a win-win. I ordered the Mix Tape B Side kit; I could not resist the colours and patterns! I mean, look at this:

The idea behind this challenge in simple: one kit + three online challenges. Use as much as you can from the kit, and see what’s left at the end.

I started with the March Creative Scrapbooker Sketchy challenge.

I added one sheet of patterned paper to this layout, but everything else came from the kit. I used the A and B sides of some of the patterns. (I love/hate it when both sides are awesome!)  The bright, bold patterns in this kit are just so much fun. I wanted to get as many as I could on to this page, so the layers in the sketch were a great fit.

Challenge number two comes to us courtesy of the great folks at Stuck?! Sketches.

The first detail I went for is those circles; I added three colours of molding paste using a Memory Box stencil so my clusters of words and flair badges each had a home. I even used the floral pattern! (Why are florals so hard for me?!) I added in lots of stickers from the B Side sticker sheet on this one and just tucked in lots of bits. I did add a set of Thickers to this one for the title.

Challenge number three is a new one to me; Brande suggested the March sketch from Grand Diva’s Creative Corner.

How have I not found these sketches before?! This was a great last challenge for this kit, because it has lots of layers and banners to mix patterns and use up pieces left over from my first two pages. I didn’t add a single bit of stash to this one. It’s all kit, all the time! 🙂

Can we take a moment for that ridiculously cute eyelash piece? Come on.

And now for the million dollar question, how much kit is left? I have a few scraps of paper – useable scraps for sure – the entire chipboard sticker sheet, 90% of the alpha sticker sheet, over half of the enamel embellishments and all of the cork embellishments. (I did go all in for paper layers on the pages, so if you are more conservative than me, you could stretch that further.) I would definitely order from The Pink Camera again, the service is great, shipping is fast (though it doesn’t have far to go) and the product is awesome. This is worth checking out, my Canadian creative friends.
