Well, Easter was a wonderful weekend! I was able to spend some special time with my family, having lots of fun both outdoors – geocaching – and indoors – scrapbooking! My kitchen was filled with family, glue, embellishments, paper and lots of conversation and laughter! I have been trying to finish up our 2010 vacation to Kelowna, so I can finish 2011, so I can start on Hawaii and Mexico trips, lol. Plus my son’s albums need to get caught up and our day to day life needs to get caught up and I want to start a special album for my stepson and I would like to get back into making calendars for Xmas for everyone AND the list goes on … A happy list indeed, but I know you all reading this get me and my list cause you have your own I am sure!
Anyway … moving along, my goal was to use my STASH! I have a whole beautiful wonderful scrapbook room (thank you honey) full of amazing materials so I decided to pull out ALL my paper and reorganize it all, and store it a little differently. Yes, I spread it all out all over my kitchen and grouped together as follows:
– Cardstock, together by colour
– Family Memory and generic distressing (distressing one page odds and two pages separated)
– Boy themed kits/paper and sports
– Feminine bright and fun together
– Travel, campground and outdoor together
– Holidays/Christmas and specialty paper
These categories really box up our life and already I see a major ease in my finding the right paper/kit with it sorted this way.
So here are the pages I did this weekend! Using the pictures as my starting point, I picked paper and/or kits based on the number of pics, shapes of pics, subject of pics. I played with layouts and cropping and then had fun layering and embellishing – I even attempted to journal a few, a discipline I really need to work on!
