Okay, so that doesn’t have the same ring to it as the classic 3Rs but the idea is the same – create something from an item you would have thrown away. Excellent idea, Simon Says Stamp! The challenge is this: “RECYCLE/UPCYCLE STYLE – With the throw away society that we live in we thought we should take a look through our ‘rubbish’ and use something that we would normally put in the bin!”
It just so happens, I had this daisy pen in the bin. It stopped writing long ago, but I kept it because it’s so cute.
I also has this half-hearted attempt at a mini canvas waiting for a new chance.
After a few layers of gesso, paper, paint and chipboard, I hated it. Uh oh.
I crossed my fingers and hoped that another layer of white gesso would allow the textures to stay visible but tone down the colours. It mostly worked. 🙂 I brushed some black mist around and mixed it into the gesso, added the chipboard wings back on and went crazy with some Prima flowers. (I never use flowers!) As a final touch, I added a sentiment from the KaiserCraft Shine Bright collection is a little reminder to stop and smell the (plastic) flowers. 😉
Thanks for stopping by!
