Stuck?! Sketches and Scot Rail

No better way to start off the 2015 scrapbooking year than with some inspiration from Stuck?! Sketches. The January 1, 2015 sketch Laura Whitaker has posted over at Stuck?! Sketches is another great one; not surprising right!? Check out the link above for Laura’s full post or here is a sneak peek at the sketch itself:

I have been working on an album for a trip my sister and I took to Scotland in 2013 to hike the Great Glen Way. This sketch with the 2 photo opportunity was a great way to capture our 2 photos from the train platform in Fort William after a 4 hour trip up from Glasgow on Scot Rail.

Supplies from the ScrapShotz Nov 2014 Scrapbooking Kit: Jillibean Soup Braised Brown Chipboard Alphabeans; Jillibean Soup – Die-Cut Kraft Tags (Soup Staples III Side); Jillibean Soup – Everyday Notebook Tags Die-Cut Cardstock (Soup Staples III Side); Jillibean Soup – Kraft Tape Smile (Soup Staples III Side); Bazzill Basics Paper Textured Cardstock (Lagoon); and Jillibean Soup – Die-Cut Kraft Tags Circle (Soup Staples III Sides). Supplies from my inventory: Tombow Mono Multi Liquid Glue; Stampin Up Neutral Candy Dots; We R Memory Keepers Enamel Shape (Neutral); We R Memory Keepers Enamel Shape (Cool); and Bo Bunny Double Dot (Shitake Dot) paper

You can see that I turned the sketch by a few degrees to accommodate the landscape orientation of my photos – but I think the sketch still really works!

Also you will see I didn’t journal on this layout (which is odd for me) but don’t worry memories are captured 😉 … For this Scotland album, I am creating journal-less layouts and instead creating a whole journal page for each layout or memory and hole punching those pages directly into the album before each corresponding layout. Here is the journal page I did for this layout:

You can see I created the journal page to coordinate in style to the layout so it looks all matchy-matchy (not really a word, but you know what I mean I bet). I am doing this layout with coordinating separate journal page throughout the album and I really like it. It gives the whole album a “travel journal” feel.

Oh and I couldn’t wrap this blog post up without a great, BIG, shout out to ScrapShotz for this most amazing November 2014 Kit. Everything on this page with the exception of a few added enamel dots and geo tag are from their November Kit and what an amazing kit it is!

Thanks for stopping by our blog.
