Craft Beer Fest

A friend and I had such a great time at the Vancouver Craft Beer Fest earlier this summer – we were pretty busy tasting all the yummy amber liquid delights, but did manage to find time to knock off this quick and fun selfie! The latest sketch challenge from Creative Scrappers featuring just the one small photo is a great way to scrap those one-off selfies. Well, and let’s be totally honest, the design team over at Creative Scrappers provides loads of inspiration – wow!

Here is the Creative Scrappers #281 sketch challenge:

Here is my selfie layout inspired by the sketch, and feeling the love of Scrapshotz Summer14 Scrapbooking Kit, which includes awesome We R Memory Keepers – Indian Summer goodies:

Supplies from the ScrapShotz Summer14 Scrapbooking Kit: My Mind’s Eye – Necessities (Wood Shapes); Twine; and We R Memory Keepers – Indian Summer (Chipboard Alphabet, Embossed Stickers, Instagram Made Easy Cards, Ikat pattern paper, Tan Hide pattern paper, Summer Meadow pattern paper). Supplies from my inventory: Tsukineko Versa Magic Dew Drop (Thatched Straw), Simple Stories DIY Stickers Typeset, Creative Memories Brown Dual Pen, Tombow Mono Multi Liquid Glue; EK Success – Corner Rounder; Stampin Up – Gorgeous Grunge Stamps; and Staple and staples

One thing that I love most about scrapbooking is that you can use any product for anything. The original purpose or some other awesome, creative idea you come up with – there are no limits! For example: I don’t often like the look of overlaying my photos with those Instagram like Polaroid frames but I do like the idea of the frames. They are just cute as all heck. So instead, I use them to anchor title (as you can see on this page in the bottom right corner) or place them on a page and journal in the window.

Pop over to Creative Scrappers to play along or see the other wonderful takes on this sketch by their design team or other bloggers like us.
