Sketchtorian IX – Multi-Photo Play

SKETCHTORIAN MULTI PHOTO SKETCH LAUNCH! YAHOO!

So often we are seeing 1 (2 max) photo sketches lately, which are amazing, HOWEVER I wanted to see a one page layout (’cause I love 1 page LOs) with a multi-photo option … or of course multi feature embellishments, as you will see in Brande’s take on our Sketch IX.

As always my sketches are very rough draft style,  meant as more of an inspiration then a blue print for your LO, unless you wanted to use it for such!

So here’s the sketch, involving a 5×7 feature pic and 4 smaller pics and of course EMBELLISHMENT CLUSTERS!

And here is my take …

This sketch was perfect for these pics, lots of “space” on the photos to crop down, and the LO allows the flow to carry through the photos of my son running through the splash park…. I love the way it allowed me to focus on the sheer joy on his face!

Note the layering under the 5×7; I did not have a large enough piece of paper from the collection (Bella Blvd Max; it and blue mist were my main ingredients) to back the photo properly. A little awkward placing of the scraps gave the layering its own unique look versus a 5×7 on a 5.4×7.4 and then a 5.8×7.8 lol   A great way to use scraps and make it look like a purposeful LO technique!

Also note the embellishment clusters in the sketch and how I used that in my own photo, again it’s one reason I don’t commit to drawing flowers or leaves or Santa … it’s the placement and imagination I want to inspire … And therefore I leave a very vague scribble so one can use whatever works on their LO!

Here is Brande’s take…. Note some of the differences in what inspiration she got from the sketch!

I am very excited to show you my take on Shar’s Sketchtorian. When I first peeked at the sketch, I was trying to think of photos that could be cut down to 2×2 inch for the squares to the top left and bottom right of the focal photo. Then it hit me! I have not yet had a chance to use my ScrapShotz Summer14 Scrapbooking Kit but remembered it had a variety of little Instagram Made Easy Cards from We R Memory Keepers. Some of the cards in the kit were 2×2 inches – perfect! I replaced the small 2×2 photos with little cards. Remember sketches are not a an exact science – you get to decide how you are inspired by them, how you interpret them and ultimately how they best work for you!
