One of my ultimate favourite sketch challenge blogs (and fave scrapbookers) is celebrating an anniversary and Scrapstorian is pleased to participate in their celebratory sketch challenge.
Congratulations Stuck?! Sketches and Laura Whitaker! We are so happy to celebrate with you – the sketch challenges this month, prizes and inspiration from your design team are absolutely fantastic!
Okay, here we go …
Here is the September 1, 2014 Challenge and Celebration Sketch from Stuck?! Sketches:
Looking at this sketch I was immediately inspired to focus on the straight edges with the layered strips of pattern that Laura suggested but then put it off kilter with a big ole mess in the background. 🙂
This is how I made the ‘big ole mess’ for the sketch background … I began with a piece of American Craft Cardstock in white as my base background paper then twice stamped through the Tim Holz Stencil called Rays with Studio G Green pigment ink. I then splattered some Heidi Swapp Color Shine in Black Velvet onto the page (but not with the mister spray, instead I just pulled the mister spray cap off the bottle and with the tube for the mister just splotched paint on by flicking my wrist). Finally I layered some of the Stampin’ Up! Gorgeous Grunge stamps around the page using Tsukineko Staz On Solvent Ink in Jet Black.
Supplies: American Crafts Amy Tangerine Plus One Flair, American Crafts Amy Tangerine Plus One Associate Dies, American Crafts Textured Cardstock (white), American Crafts Amy Tangerine Plus One Paper, American Crafts Amy Tangerine Plus One Premium Ribbon (camera), American Crafts Amy Tangerine Plus One Thickers (black), Bazzill Basics Paper Textured Cardstock (Electric Green), Tim Holtz Collections Stencil – Rays, Stampin’ Up! – Gorgeous Grunge Stamps, Studio G Pigment Ink (light green), Tsukineko Staz On Solvent Ink (jet black), Heidi Swapp Color Shine (black velvet), Tim Holtz Idea-ology Tiny Attacher, Tombow Mono Multi Liquid Glue
