You may or may not have noticed my lack of scrapping since the April retreat. I noticed!
I spent a lot of time wanting to create, thinking about what I would create, but no time actually creating. Sometimes, after periods like that, the first layout back is loaded with expectations. Over the weekend, I decided stop thinking and just make something. First, I finished my March and April Project Life style gratitude spreads (more on that idea here). Then, I tackled Shar’s most recent sketch. (Better late than never?)
Brande did a great job with her sketch but mine was not coming together very easily … I texted a photo of the layout to Brande and Shar with the question, “Will I hate this in the morning?”
They said no, but had some suggestions. I added a photo mat, as per Brande’s idea, and was left with this:
Supplies: Colorbok paper, Stampin’ Up! coaster board, Claudine Hellmuth black gesso, Liquitex gesso, Wendy Vecchi Studio 490 embossing paste, Crate Paper chipboard (I think, very old!), Tim Holtz Layering Stencil (Bubble), The Crafter’s Workshop stencil (TCW454s Mini Specimens)
So, here’s the thing: I am not sure this layout is complete. Since our musical chair layouts turned out so well, I thought maybe some fresh eyes would help this one.
(Is this cheating? Probably. Is it fun? Definitely.)
If this were your layout, how would you finish it? What would you add? Remove? Add your ideas in the comments and help me get this one done. 🙂
I honestly think it looks pretty great as it is. The only thing that popped into my head was to maybe use some small vellum embellishment near the stenciled areas? Seriously, it truly looks beautiful as is to me though, my suggestion is just for consideration. 🙂
Thanks! I’m not sure what I feel is missing but I think you’re on to something with vellum! It would allow me to add more, but not overwhelm.
I appreciate you taking time to comment. 🙂
