More Sketchabilities with Shar!

Well, I am back with another Karan Gerber sketch from Sketchabilties … So much love for Karan!

sketchabilities #112

Here is a another capture of how the 12×12 FabScraps (love you guys; keep designing, I’ll keep creating) Summer Nets started out.

Could I find better paper for this marine background?! NOPE! Add in some mists, ink, a Tim Holtz Stencil (Harlequin) and stamps and embellishments from Maya Road, TH, CTMH and some random cardboard and here you have it!

I also took a before and after for comparison, so you can see how you can change and alter paper to suit your look, your colours, your theme, your whatever. I remember the retreat where Cheryl introduced us to inking and misting and painting and seeing the before and after work she had done was INSPIRING! Hope this helps those whom are nervous about getting misty! Experiment, play and, above all, have FUN!

Photo: I have to say I have the MOST beautiful sisters (This is my middle sis Hailey, smart, sweet and beautiful both in and out) and when I get a moment like this on camera … WOW. I remember printing this and just being in AWE of this amazing creature that is my sister! Seriously WOW!

Thanks  for stopping in!

  1. Gorgeous Shar and love the way you have altered the background paper to suit that beautiful photo. Great to see your entry up first over at Sketchabilities:))

  2. Great layout! And a wonderful picture! Love it… thanks for playing along with us at Sketchabilities!!!

  3. Wow, I love this layout Shar and I really love the picture. I love the little twine/rope thingy going up the side and how you emphasized some of the designs in the paper. Even though I don’t know the girl in the picture I feel like somehow you made it reflect her style. Which…. is a very cool thing to do.
