Another day, another sketch!
This one comes from Creative Scrappers. Brande found it first, and quickly passed it along. Enjoy!
What a great sketch – with ‘sky’s the limit’ potential. Right away I liked that there was a good, solid spot for journaling (my weakness) and that there was a fun mixture of embellishment opportunities leaving lots of room for creative license. The idea of four separate squares at first was intimidating (I tend to connect everything in my layout in some way) but a bit more thought allowed me to mix two different events into a single themed page – perfect! I also really enjoyed Lee-Anne Thornton’s take on the sketch that Kathy Skou at Creative Scrappers featured in her blog post when introducing this sketch. Lee-Anne has some awesome layouts on her blog, you should pop over there sometime. Very fun!
Supplies include: My Mind’s Eye Boy Crazy, Creative Memories journaling pen, Heidi Swapp Colour Shine Mist Bronzer and Letters, and Bo Bunny Double Dot Shadow Dot, Fancy Pants Cork Shapes Hearts & Stars and other random embellishments from my stash
I am killing one of my resolutions so far! I wanted to let go of this idea that paper I love has to be saved for something. I used a ton of my fave Fancy Pants yesterday and then even more on this page. I love the Trendsetter collection. I chose to layer a lot of different patterns from the collection to build up the background for my squares. I moved the journaling to the side, since I used a photo in each square. The title is small but colourful and playful, in keeping with the rest of the page.
Well, I have to admit, it wasn’t love at first sight on this one but thanks to being stubborn, I went for it! I reached for Simple Stories Say Cheese and the perfect pic selection from our Disney trip and things came together! A little spray from HS – black velvet my fav! I treated each picture like it’s own mini scrap page! I ended up loving this layout after all!
