Try it Today – Use Both Parts of an Intricate Die

I know photos and story should be the stars of the show, but when you have a shape as lovely as this feather from the Silhouette Store, and some pretty paper, why can’t they share the spotlight?

Really, I could add anything to this page and it wouldn’t take away from that face … 🙂
I cut the feather large enough to be the main element on the left of the page and used only the negative space to show off the background paper. (To make using the negative space easier, adhere the actual die cut, using the left over stickiness from the cutting mat, and place all your pieces back in.) I keep the negative space from almost every shape I cut. I love this look.

Lest you think it went to waste, Shar used the actual feather on another page. She made it fit an entirely different colour scheme and theme. Cut once, make two pages! Who doesn’t love a time saver?
