I start each month with good intentions and plans to work on the Canadian Scrapbooker Sketchy Challenge. This month, it actually happened!
October Sketchy Challenge
The October sketch, designed by Sue Sykes, is adorable and simple.
Supplies: Heidi Swapp fotostack, We R Memory Keepers card stock, Recollections badges, Simple Stories stamp, We R Memory Keepers washi sheet, Echo Park paper, Theresa Collins stamp, Staz On ink
I loved the simple two photo sketch but had way more than two photos to use. The photos were fun, but didn’t necessarily warrant a two page layout.
Flip frames + the sketch = solution!
Look closely and you will see a second piece of the yellow paper covering my first attempt at stamping on the page. I re-stamped at the bottom, where it worked a little better. It’s not perfect but that’s not really a big deal.
CS Double the Fun
Kelly Klapstein designs a sketch for CS as well. Her Double the Fun sketches are always great for a mostly single page scrapper like me. I need all the help I can get with two page spreads! 😉
Supplies: Bazill card stock, Stampendous embossing powder, Ranger Emboss it dabber, unknown metal sheets, American Crafts Thickers, Tim Holtz texture fades, Sizzix Big Shot, Tim Holtz distress ink, Tsukineko ink, Silhouette Cameo, beehive background cut file
This one took some work! I used a Silhouette cut file for the mask but didn’t remove it before filling the pages with embossing ink and powder. The amount of embossing powder took some heat, so the small paper mask didn’t hold up well. I was able to salvage a few pieces to use around the layout, where the circles were in the sketch. I also tried embossing and inking some metal sheets that had been in my stash for ages. I may have to find more.
