First Silhouette Layout

I wanted to get this post up but I have a non-napping two year old, so this will be fast …

I finally caught up to most of the scrapping world and got a digital die cut machine! OMG! I am the proud owner of a Silhouette Cameo and I love it. I ordered from Scrapbooks by Design, great service, fast and free shipping. I’ve never owned a digital die cutting machine before (I often joke that I am the only scrapper I know without a Cricut) but I’ve been drooling over Silhouette layouts for a long time. I have a ridiculous amount of fonts on my computer and can’t wait to try cutting them all.

Star Circle Background

This amazing background is one of the first shapes I downloaded and the first thing I cut. I just love it. I am quite sure it will be used again. This is cut from older My Mind’s Eye paper. I did sacrifice one sheet before this, but my settings weren’t right. User error! 😉

I kept the background on my desk for a day or two, while I decided which photos to use. After my son spent a day playing on his skateboard, I knew where this was going! I let the pattern stand alone on most of the page and clustered the embellishments on the right side. I splattered orange ink onto the dark background, knowing that it would barely show. I added frames from My Little Yellow Bicycle and some bits and pieces from my stash.

I think my skater will be happy with it.  🙂
