Vision Boarding – Hello 2013

Okay, maybe vision boarding isn’t technically a verb, but who needs to nitpick? My lovely friend Liz from Day One Fitness had some clients/friends of hers together this morning to create vision boards. A vision board can be whatever you want or need it to be, but its purpose is to remind you of who you want to become, what you want to achieve and what is important to you.

Mine is kind of extra large and very scrappy! I started with several layouts about my goals that were sitting in albums. I think this is a better place for them, since I don’t look at my albums every day. 😉  The space around those is filled with inspirational quotes, photos from Pinterest and plenty of bits and pieces that make me think.

Two of the most important quotes are:
“Comparison is the thief of joy.” (Theodore Roosevelt)
“I wish I could show you, when you are lonely or in darkness, the astonishing light of your own being.” (Hafiz)

It’s hard not to notice the big “accept” at the top. I’ve decided that’s what I need to work on this year; accepting myself, my strengths and weaknesses, my goals and quirks, accepting others and accepting things I cannot change. A tall order, maybe, but goals are meant to stretch you, right?

Are you working on a vision board/book/journal/goal list for 2013? Share it, I’d love to see!

  1. I love your board Cheryl – I can imagine it was a fun and reflective task. Accept is a fantastic word. I love it. I think mine will be “stop”. I don’t stop for anything literally and emotionally – I am getting better at it since having kids but want to focus on it this year. Stay tuned… love this board.. maybe I’ll give it a whirl.

    • I’d love to see a vision board done Cathy style; it would be awesome!
Stop is a great word to think about, I don’t many of use do it as much as we should.

  2. SO LOVE THIS, I HAVE DONE THE SAME THING TO KEEP FOCUSED AND INSPIRED… YOURS IS BEAUTIFUL! Love the Accept!!! I have not done one this year but this is giving me the guff to do it!!!

  3. Amazing! I am so inspired and will be doing my own board! I cannot tell you how great I think your board is – and the quote by Hafiz is also one of my favorites. OK I am already post-it note sketching what I want on mine, I will be sure to post once final! Thanks for the inspiration!
